On April 17, the Greater New Orleans Fair Housing Action Center & Neighborhoods Partnership Network presented a screening of "Third Ward TX," the documentary about Project Rowhouses, a successful partnership between artists, affordable housing advocates and community members in Houston. The film was followed by a panel on art and affordable housing with Project Rowhouses artist Rick Lowe, local community-based artist Stephanie McKee, affordable housing expert James Perry, and CEO of the Institute for Community Development, Jessica Knox.

"It is essential that any public planning process, especially now in New Orleans, include residents as stakeholders. Residents are most directly impacted by decisions about neighborhood development. Community arts activities are a useful tool to engage residents in the creative process of visioning the future of their neighborhood."
