Just an adorable, friendly, charming French bistro -- a delightful neighborhood restaurant.  If you want to have a nice meal without the fuss and feathers, Degas should do the trick in terms of both food and atmosphere.  There are daily dinner and lunch specials -- think quiches and real, live salads (always a happy find in this town) and straightforward but flavorful fish and meat dishes, presented in generous portions.

Under the direction of Chef Reggie Davis, our full service kitchen offers "from scratch" baked goods such as cookies, scones and muffins, as well as hot breakfast items and soups, sandwiches and salads for lunch. Daily lunch specials are available as well.  Our customers rave about our Liberty's Pulled Pork, Smoked Chicken Salad and Shrimp and Grits! Note: open until 4 PM

Lil Dizzy's cafe serves authentic Creole cuisine using only regional ingredients. The menu includes crab meat, shrimp omelets, homemade hot sausages and much more. Liver in brown gravy is a hit among the locals. Also worth a try are the red beans and rice and t-bone steaks. Since it's usually packed with locals, it's advisable to visit the restaurant during the off hours. An inexpensive place to enjoy the very popular lunch buffet.

Owned by three brothers, this down-home spot is delicious, fast, and has one of the friendliest and most welcoming vibes. From breakfast to dinner, the Stewarts take care of you. Their daily soul food specials are delicious, made only better by the fact that most are offered every day. Red beans and rice has been renamed the "President's Special"; the smothered pork chop is fall-off-the-bone tender; baked mac-n-cheese New Orleans style; great fried chicken (made to order with a salt and pepper seasoning).

This modest neighborhood joint is friendly and funky.  A typical visit produces oysters en brochette, pâté de maison, seafood-stuffed eggplant (shrimp, crabmeat, and crawfish tails in a casserole with spicy sausage and crisp fried eggplant), and a chocolate-mousse/peanut-butter pie for dessert.
