Too many renters in New Orleans live in damaged, unhealthy, and unaffordable housing. While rents keep rising, the quality of rental housing has stayed the same and even gotten worse.
This Mother’s Day, we need to show New Orleans city leaders that enough is enough, and that our city’s renters–especially families with young children–deserve better.
With your help, we’ll post the billboard above by City Hall to coincide with a Mother’s Day housing campaign. Together, we’ll send the message that safe housing is too important to be put on the back burner.
New Orleans is a majority-renter city, and basic security and safety in housing should be a minimum standard for everyone, not a luxury reserved for only those who pay the highest rents. Together, we can organize to demand concrete policies to ensure the health and safety of our homes and neighborhoods. Thanks for standing with us.
