INVESTIGATION & ENFORCEMENT
If you think that you’ve been discriminated against in the housing market, the Greater New Orleans Fair Housing Action Center may be able to help. GNOFHAC conducts investigations into fair housing violations. When necessary, the GNOFHAC counsels its clients through the process of filing a complaint with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, or filing a lawsuit in state or federal court.
The Homeownership Protection Project’s HUD-certified counselors offer free counseling to homeowners in the New Orleans area around a variety of post-purchase issues. If you need assistance you can contact one of our HUD-certified housing counselor for assistance with a mortgage delinquency or default situation, a homeownership insurance claim, or another homeownership issue.
The Greater New Orleans Fair Housing Action Center organizes a variety of educational events and training opportunities for individuals and organizations in our region. You can schedule a fair housing training for your company, non-profit organization, neighborhood organization or classroom or learn about upcoming educational events and how to get involved.
